EXPLANATION OF THE LEVELS OF PERFORMANCE FOR THE KNEE GUARDS, AND THE ELBOW GUARDS (specified in norm EN14120)

We thank you for choosing these guards.

  • Level 1: Protective gear made for use in normal sports on wheels.
  • Level 2: Protective gear made for use in acrobatic sports on wheels.

The level 1 protective gear protects against minor risks: superficial mechanical accidents, small shocks and vibrations that do not affect vital parts of the body and that are not likely to cause irreversible lesions.

It is strongly recommended that they be put on before skating or skateboarding.

Do not forget that all sports on wheels must be conducted safely and that no protection gear can provide total protection against injuries.

A set of protection gear must include at the least: head, knee, elbow, and hand/wrist protective guards.

ADJUSTING KNEE AND ELBOW GUARDS

  1. Open the self-adhesive strips.
  2. Place the guard on the knee or elbow, accordingly.
  3. Wrap around the knee or elbow, accordingly, with the strips and close them at the front of the guard.
  4. The knee or elbow guard must be perfectly adjusted so as to avoid slippage and to offer maximum protection.

ADJUSTING THE WRIST GUARDS

  1. Open the self-adhesive strip.

  2. Each guard has a left and right side. Check inside label of the item and then put on.

  3. Insert the thumb of the left hand into the hole of the wrist guard so that the palm of the hand is facing the curved plastic shell.

  4. The widest self-adhesive strip must be wrapped around the joint of the wrist and then tightened.

  5. The narrower self-adhesive strips must also be wrapped around and tightened in their respective places.

  6. The curved shell is therefore situated on the palm of the left hand.

  7. Do the same for the right hand.

  8. Both wrist guards must be firmly tightened in order to be effective and in order to avoid blocking blood circulation.

MATERIAL

The guards are made of PP plastic, polyester and foam nylon.

CLEANING

  1. Clean your guards with a brush.

  2. In case of difficult stains, soak them in soapy luke-warm water and rinse with water.

  3. Do not dry clean or clean with an aggressive detergent (for example: bleach, petrol, lye, ammonia).

MAINTENANCE

  1. After each use and each fall, check the state of your guards.

  2. Inspect regularly. If the plastic shells are cracked, if the adjustment strips have lost their elasticity, if the self-adhesive strips lose their adhesive quality or if part of the material is torn, the protection gear is then likely to no longer properly serve their purpose. They should no longer be used and should be disposed of.

  3. This gear is not designed to be used in extreme temperatures:

  • Below zero, the plastic shells will lose a bit of their flexibility but this will not affect their performance. We recommend that you do not use skates or a skateboard in temperatures below -10°C, because the shells will become less resistant.- Do not expose guards to high temperatures (for example: leaving them in the sun in a car). This may cause the shells to crack.
  1. If well maintained your guards may last more than 2 years.

  2. In the interest of efficiency, we recommend that you do not repair the guards, it is best to change equipment.

Do not alter the gear (build, colour, etc.). Any contamination, alteration or misuse of the protective gear may dangerously affect their performance.

The lifespan of the protective pads is 4 years from date of manufacture. After 2 years of usage of an average wearing time of 180 days of use per year, the protective pads has also to be exchanged.
